Job Description:
The Chief People Person will lead all HR initiatives across our regional swim schools in Westchester County, NY. This role is designed for a caring individual who is passionate about recruiting, nurturing, and advancing talent in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. Your job will be to ensure that our 200+ staff members feel as valued and supported as the children in our care.
Responsibilities:
- Direct talent acquisition and recruitment processes across our regional schools: orchestrate job postings, identify and screen potential candidates, and manage interviews and hiring procedures.
- Monitor the performance and career trajectory of 200+ staff members, fostering a culture of personal growth and professional development.
- Oversee and handle employee benefits and compensation, answering inquiries and ensuring our team feels well-cared for.
- Manage payroll, aligning the employee pay matrix and developing incentive packages that reward our dedicated team.
- Work closely with operational managers to ensure adequate instructor and lifeguard coverage at each school, creating a safe and enriching environment for our students.
- Administer workplace disputes and discipline, conducting investigations and resolving conflicts with compassion and integrity.
- Handle worker's compensation issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and caring for our team's well-being.
- Develop HR strategies in alignment with our business goals, keeping the positive, playful vibe of Goldfish Swim Schools at the forefront of all policies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in HR roles with a focus on recruiting and talent acquisition.
- Excellent knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HR systems and databases.
